How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

When you call, you reach an independent local provider from our network. These are separate businesses. They are not employees of Mysteryexcuse Restoration, and Mysteryexcuse Restoration does not do the work on your home.

There are no staff profiles on this site, because the people who help you are the providers themselves. Each provider runs its own business, sets its own prices and decides which jobs it takes.

What Happens on the Call

Keep it simple. Tell the provider what you see. Say where the water came from, if you know. Mention which rooms are wet and how long it has been there.

The provider may ask a few questions about your home, such as whether it is a slab home or a condo. Then they can explain what they might do and whether they can help in your area.

Call hours and availability vary by provider. Many can respond quickly, but nobody can promise a time without knowing your address and their schedule. Ask what is realistic. To find out who is available near you, request a callback and ask.

What to Ask an Independent Provider

A short list helps. Write these down before you call:

  • What are the steps, from start to finish?
  • Will you give me a written quote or estimate?
  • What could make the price change?
  • Are you licensed and insured for this work in my state?
  • Can you help document the damage for an insurance claim?
  • How will you check that things are truly dry?

A good answer is clear, calm and specific. A weak answer is vague or rushed. Be careful if a provider will not give a price in writing, asks for a large payment up front or tells you to skip a call to your insurer.

Costs in General Terms

Prices vary a lot by job. In the U.S., small drying jobs can cost a few hundred dollars. Larger jobs with a lot of water, damaged flooring or mold can run into the thousands. These are only typical ranges. Your quote depends on the size of the area, the type of water and the materials involved.

The only way to know your number is to get a written quote for your home.

You Are in Control

A call does not commit you to anything. You can talk to one provider or several. You can ask for time to think. You can say no.

If the water is rising or you smell gas or see sparks, stay safe first. Get everyone out and call the right emergency service.
